Why I’m running for State Senate

New York State was once the greatest state in the nation. They called us the Empire State.

Today, we rank among the highest taxed states, with little or no economic growth.

Our schools are a disgrace. Our roads are full of potholes. Young people don’t dream of a future here anymore — they leave for greener pastures.

And with all of these things going on, what is the state legislature focusing on these days?

They want to give themselves a pay raise — so they can earn over $100,000 a year.

Despite all the problems New York State has — and despite the fact that state legislators are part-time workers who already earn more than their counterparts in 47 states — these guys want more pay so they can be the highest paid in the nation.

Unbelievable.

If you send me to Albany, I will wake up and shake up the legislature and get them to focus on what’s really important for people like us.

And I will refuse any legislative pay raise until Albany gets its act together.
